What withdrawal actually looks like
Set your usual daily count and the timeline adjusts. Nothing here is a schedule you have to follow.
15
- 30 minutes
Blood nicotine starts falling. Most people do not notice anything yet beyond the habit of reaching.
- 4 hours
The reaching becomes conscious. This is the point where the physical routine — the hand, the lid, the lip — is more insistent than the craving itself.
- 12 hours
Irritability and difficulty settling are common. Appetite often increases.
- Day 3
For most people this is the hardest stretch. Concentration is poor and mood is unreliable.
Usually the hardest point - Week 1
The physical side eases noticeably. What remains is situational — the specific moments that used to have a pouch attached to them.
- Week 2 to 4
Cravings become shorter and further apart. They tend to arrive attached to a place or an activity rather than to a clock.
This describes patterns commonly reported for nicotine withdrawal. Individual experience varies considerably, and this is not medical advice.
